Nozzle clogging is one of the most disruptive phenomena in the operation of the tundish-mold system in continuous casting of steel.The tundish porous upper nozzle with embedded argon channels is developed.Injected argon is delivered to the seat areavia the channels and puff awaythrough the pores to reduce clogging,and reliable flow control obtained.By optimizing the pore size and refractory composition，we provide tundish porous upper nozzle with properties of excellent erosion resistance and anti-clogging.
